Hey! I'm Romana
My name is Romana and I am a 28 year old, self-taught watercolor artist. You may know me better as @trace_the_moon, the name under which I run my Instagram account, on which I share my paintings with over 190k art lovers.
My watercolor journey started almost 5 years ago, when I simply picked up a brush and went for it. But frustration kicked in really fast, because there is a lot to know before you start creating paintings like the ones I dreamt of making. So I educated myself as much as I could: I studied paper, brushes, how to design templates and trace them on my watercolor paper, techniques... And then I practiced, practiced and practiced some more.
I have now been selling my work for quite some time, but I realized I wanted something more. Teaching is something I love to do, and painting is so much more than a hobby for me: it’s a way of relaxing and being proud of myself for creating beautiful art.
And that is why I decided to share that same feeling with you.
Every day I receive messages from people who decided to take up watercolor painting after viewing my content, and there is nothing that makes me prouder.
I understand how frustrating it is to think your work isn’t good enough to be shared. I’ve felt the lack of inspiration and discouragement that comes from comparing yourself to others.
Our lack of motivation often comes from simply not knowing where to start, or which path to follow.
